A key challenge in the POBC environment is to optimize the repeatability on non-geometric parameters and to streamline the acquisition and processing flow.
Optimized repeatability requires hands-off:
- Management and QC of 4D navigation and seismic data
- Identification of acceptable and unacceptable data, and
- Presentation of relevant information to the end user as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Hands-off, optimized repeatability enables rapid 4D data turnaround, which permits timely well planning decisions that can significantly affect asset cash flow.
Concept Systems can offer a customized data management solution based on proven positioning and survey control technology and backed by fast-track IT development, engineering consultancy and field support. We delivered a similar solution for BP’s pioneering Valhall project. Our project team worked closely with BP to develop a data management solution which provided the following key functionality:
- Seismic acquisition control (shot control & positioning)
- Data integration & management
- Attribute computation
- Automated data validation
- Attribute comparison (with previous surveys)
The system was based on the GATOR command and control system and was integrated with components from a comprehensive toolbox of Concept Systems 4D technologies. New data management and validation software was developed specifically for the project using our fast-track development model.
The solution also includes the provision of 4D consultancy and field IT services to assist with the configuration and mobilization of monitor surveys.
